And I Think It's Gonna Rain Today!

No... I do not think it is going to really rain in the literal since it is sunny and around 40 degrees. I mean in the figurative sense. I just want things to go well. Today we are celebrating K's birthday (which was really yesterday... of which we went to pet the cats at the humane society). I want everything to go well for her. But, around here, niceness is a luxury and I don't want that to ruin her day. I vow on this webblog that I will not be the one today to cause problems. I will not rise to baiting. I will just be there and enjoy the company. Wish me luck.

Katie, The Sunspot Cat

Lately, Katie Cat has been trying to locate new sleeping spots. J's dining room chair is her new favorite. She goes over to the chair around noon and stays there until at least 3 pm. She is soooo cute! I hope she continues to find cute sleeping locations.

DUCKPIN Bowling?

For those of you who don't know what Duckpins are, imagine bowling with tiny midget pins with a shot put and getting to throw the shot put 3 times to knock down your 10 midget pins. Ya got it? No? That's ok. I think it is something you gotta try to get. Anyhoooooo.....

Today, I had a shop at a local bowling alley. Like always, cannot say where or when. All I can say was that it was a bowling alley that actually had DUCKPINS!!! Today's shop was to see if women get treated differently then men when they go bowling. J. and I had a decent time bowling and didn't kill each other or make fun of our bowling stances. She was a good sport to lose twice and I was an even worse winner getting a coveted strike!!! WOOOHOOO! Food service was horrid. Food was good, though. We get to do it all again next week. Aren't we lucky.

My New Philosophy!

I'm sure at least one of my readers is a musical fan. You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown was never one of my favorites. At least, until I discovered someone that I felt would someday (even back then) be a rising star. That person is Kristin Chenoweth. She played Sally Brown in YGMCB. I felt she had one of those voices that didn't match her looks. I had a feeling she would just... I don't know... go somewhere. Then she was pegged to be Galinda in Wicked... and Lily in Disney's Annie. She also rocked as Ms. Noodle on Seasame Street (Mr. Noodle's cute sibling). This girl was really going somewhere! And had a voice that had near perfect pitch!!! WOAH!

She followed up these wonderful performances with countless TV appearances and movies, live action and cartoon. Although, right now, the roles she is noted for most are Galinda in Wicked and Olive Snook in Pushing Daisies (pity it has been canceled).

Getting back to the topic, when Cheno was in YGMCB, as Sally Brown, she sang a song about her new Philosophy. For Sally, this meant changing it every minute or couple of seconds. For me, my new way of thinking is anything is possible if you put your mind to it... even if it seems impossible. I think Sally would have done well with this thought. It could have incompassed every idea she had. LOL!
